OOC PREFERENCES:
•CONTACT METHOD: PM or Plurk (@punchthethings)
•THREAD-JACKING: Bring it. If a thread is going in a direction that I don’t want to break from, I tend to hand wave and double thread, treating both as canon.
•FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: Parks and Rec is such a small canon that I don’t think it will come up, but yeah, being told she’s fictional would give Leslie too much of an identity crisis. And there’s no Ann Perkins here to drink and cry with, so I’d like to avoid that. Amy Pohler has been in a quite a lot of things, and I am fine with Leslie being mixed up with the other characters she has played (hey, Ms. Regina’s mom).
•BACKTAGGING: I will back tag into eternity.
•AVOIDED TOPICS: Any plots that involve a character being sexually assaulted. However, talking about assaults that have taken place in the past is fine, and something that Leslie likely has some degree of training in.
IC CHARACTERISTICS:
•PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Petite blonde with a non-regional American accent. Leslie believes that she’s come to the barge to work, so from 9-5 she will be dressing in the same work attire she would at home: pantsuits, skirts, dress shirt and sweater combinations. Think of a more conservative Ann Taylor loft. If you see her in jeans, that means she’s in whatever passes for relax mode.
•DEMEANOR: Leslie is very friendly and will always be happy to talk to people. She is someone who wants to be liked, so if your character treats her misanthropically, it may just increase her desire to get to know them. But she does have a temper and is very capable of holding grudges – if her patience runs out and she feels insulted or that her work is being devalued, it would be very IC of her to declare a character a mortal enemy. The difference is subtle, but rooted in perceived motivation. For example, she will tolerate the citizens of Pawnee calling her terrible names during town hall meetings, because attending the meetings in the first place means that they care about Pawnee. Meanwhile, Greg Pikitis actually seems to respect Leslie as a worthy opponent but dedicates his time and energy to tearing her work down and thus deserves to be water boarded.
•ABILITIES: Not a power, per say, but Leslie accomplishes more things in one day than should be physically possible. If she’s not around, assume that she is off working on x, y, and z.
•MEDICAL INFORMATION: No major injuries or illnesses. Does not get enough vegetables.
•OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Leslie proudly calls herself a feminist and does not take well to misogyny. Jabs about America will also be met with a >:( face.
IC PERMISSIONS:
•MENTAL: Sure. There’s no need to ask me beforehand for small things like empathy and non-malicious mind reading. Leslie’s an open book, and wouldn’t have any training keeping her thoughts locked up. But please plot with me beforehand for anything that would have long term character impact.
•MIMICRY: Same as above!
•VIOLENCE: Catfights are fine – talk to me beforehand for more serious stuff.
•MAGIC: Sure.
•DEBATE: Every character on the barge is already in a debate with Leslie Knope. They just don’t know it yet.
•OTHER / NOTES: Leslie is knowledgeable about a very random base of things – if your character has a similar factoid mentality, I may occasionally request that we action tag something along the lines of [And then Leslie and Fraser talked about problematic zoning restrictions for two hours.] for expediency’s sake.
