[A day with the ghost of her father, a day of total hedonism, and one more day of being a hung over invalid. While Leslie hasn't spent the port in any particular danger, she has been exceedingly distracted. And been so very organized about it that she's caused everyone who was at the party (parties?) to be distracted as well.

It's unlike her, to be this negligent during a port. This given to distraction.

Now, after a shower and a walk through the garden -- one expansive look at the ground, she finally remembers why. What it was that the hotel was trying so hard to make her forget.]

Listen, everyone. I know where we are. I know exactly what this place--

[There's a scream, as she drops her communicator.]

Freaking BUSHES? REALLY?

[Then line stays open, but all the viewer will see is snow.]

Stay away from the- [Damn. Fine! He takes off for the outside. Because fuck those bushes. He has a vendetta now. They owe him blood.

He swings open the doors and steps out into the snow, listening for her.]

[He would have given his left hand (not his right, he needs that for the skrill) for some pruning shears at that point. He trudges out, and the snow feels deeper today.]

Over here! If you can get back to the hotel they'll stop chasing you. [He tries to keep his eyes in her direction, hoping between the two of them they won't move. So far, for horrible bushes, they've been eerily intelligent.]

[Some people have rats for pets. He has a shooting scorpion in his arm. Nothing wrong with that.

Except he can't use it here, it's been sapped by the ship.] If I get halfway out to you, the ones chasing you shouldn't be able to catch you. [But then, like a champion, he slips on a root under the snow. The first time a root has gotten him. He doesn't even have the benefit of a pocket-knife and starts frantically untangling himself in an effort to make it out to her.]

If I'm looking at them they can't move. But they have my foot-

[So he's not looking. He's undoing the root so he can free himself, pulling and tugging his laces until he's free, and then he's back up to try again.

Unfortunately, he doesn't know that she's stopped running somewhere in that short time span.]

Ms. Knope? Ms. Knope, are you all right?

[A tall, shadowy figure approaches the lobby windows and squints against the light. The clouds act as a pretty good sunlight filter, but it's still too bright for him out there. If he goes out, he'll blister. But he doesn't give a damn. He slips his hand into his coat pocket and pulls on his smoked goggles.]

I am coming out after you.

[He didn't wait another moment--he leaped out into the snow, straight through the glass, and bulled forward, ignoring his blistering skin, starting to search the grounds for her. The headache from the sun messed with his concentration and he could not safely use his full speed, but at least his eyes were safe. He called out once, in a voice gone hoarse, and listened desperately for an answer.]

[He had a terrible feeling that he would not find her alive. The feeling was only exacerbated when he found himself running through a field of bloody snow dotted with impalement stakes.]
