[The screen comes up, and the viewer is treated to a lovely close up shot of a single, blue eye. Then a nose, and then there’s the rest of her! Leslie sits at her desk chair, wearing a blue blazer set that she specifically purchased for today. She clears her throat, and smiles.]

Hello. I am Leslie Knope, from Pawnee, Indiana. United States. Planet Earth. [A pause. How cool is this!?] I really admire the work that you all are doing here, and I am so happy for the opportunity to roll up my sleeves and pitch in. Metaphorically. Phorically, I would possibly change my shirt first and then help however I can.

[If anyone needs her to help build cabinets, she has a toolbox – no, Leslie! Stay on topic.] I’ve got a few ideas for upcoming community activities! Now, what is the status of your parks around here?

[Edit: Spam for residents of Level 8: Sitting in front of your doors, you will find a small basket of various candy treats, including several Nutra-Yum Bars. There is a note attached that says:

"A little taste of Pawnee, Indiana. From your new neighbor, Leslie Knope!

Well, it seems like you've already been briefed on our parks situation, Ma'am. I will recommend that you get in touch with Constable Fraser, though. I believe you'll find a willing contributor to your cause in him.

[Grinning, Leslie corks her head to the side and pumps her fist. Then, in what she believes to be a fairly spot on cockney accent:]

Oi, a constable you say! Jolly good!

[She clears her throat. Okay.]

He's Canadian, actually. [ And Boyd is fairly certain that whatever that was, it wasn't meant to reference Canada. ] But I'm sure he'll appreciate your efforts towards cultural understanding.

[Her smile goes a little forced. That's two Canadians on board. Her desire to get to know everyone is conflicting with her desire to look down on the entirety of that desolate arctic wasteland.]

I'm afraid so, but try not to hold that against him. He's principled, devoted and infused with the spirit of public service, which makes him just the kind of man you need, community-wise.

That was actually the first flood I've had to deal with personally.

I picked a fight with an angel and managed to get a rooster to fly into a murderous rage, so I can't imagine what sort of mannerless beast it turned you into.

Familiar is a strong word. We only had three official encounters -- two raids and an interrogation. And I'm fine with it, thanks for askin'. It's just a little strange.

I hear you've acquired an inmate recently. How is that working out?
